Blueberry Basil Orange Infused Water

It’s summer and it’s hot. This is a great refreshing beverage to keep you cool and hydrated. With only four ingredients and a matter of about a minute to come together, this delightful flavored water is a perfect last minute recipe for any summer BBQ or picnic. This bright and clean flavor combo is sure to be a hit with your family and friends too!

Blueberries– Contain polyphenols that have antioxidant and inflammatory properties that reduce inflammation that contributes to chronic conditions like cardiovascular disease, cancer and age-related cognitive decline. They are high in vitamin C, immune-boosting, high in fiber and low in calories.

Basil– Contains a wide range of essential oils rich in phenolic compounds and a wide array of polyphenols such as flavonoids and anthocyanins. Basil is great for reducing inflammation associated with arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease. Basil is a rich source of nutrients, vitamins, minerals and has antibacterial properties.

Blueberry Basil Orange Infused Water

Ingredients:

  • 64 oz. cold water
  • 1/4 cup blueberries, lightly crushed
  • 1/4 cup basil leaves, torn
  • 1 orange, sliced

Directions:

Stir together all ingredients in a pitcher and chill overnight. Serve over ice.
