Raspberries are a girl’s best friend!
These super high-fiber berries are loaded with antioxidants like quercetin, ellagic acid and carotenoids that fight aging and keep you young.
Just one cup provides one third of your daily fiber fulfillment, so they speed elimination and may promote weight loss.
Raspberries are great for your eyes. They contain lutein and zeaxanthin, a pair of carotenoids that protect against macular degeneration, which can cause loss of vision. The anthocyanins in raspberries fight inflammation just like aspirin and ibuprofen do, by turning off the signals sent from enzymes COX-1 and COX-2 that are responsible for the bodies inflammatory response. They are great for anyone with arthritic conditions or gout because of this property.
The ellagic acid in raspberries is so potent at fighting cancer, test tube studies have shown that it can kill cancer cells in certain types of cancer including: colon, esophageal, lung, liver, tongue and skin cancers. Wow! Impressive little berries!
Quercitin is another anticarcinogen found in these ruby red gems that can protect against mammary gland cancers.
